This superb late 18th-century gabled facade building, celebrated in the preface of "Letters from My Mill," was a place of serenity and tranquility for Alphonse Daudet. It houses the writer's museum and the exhibition "Fontvieille in Stories" with its thematic rooms on traditions.

The archaeological site of La Meunière and the Roman aqueducts of Barbegal, these two wonderful unique remnants in Europe are testimonies of the history of water in Les Alpilles since ancient times.

From the troglodyte houses of the Quartier du Planet to the Old Fountain (which gave its name to the village) and the washhouse, passing by the abbots' tower...

Inhabited from the 7th century BC, the city was Hellenized later and then became a prosperous Roman colony. Destroyed by barbarian invasions in 260, it was then abandoned. Rediscovered from 1920, you can still see, along the main street, the monuments that characterize Roman cities: temples, forum, basilica, baths, shops, and residential houses...

Do not miss, just across from the entrance to Glanum, the Mausoleum and the Arch of Triumph, nicknamed "Les Antiques." These monuments that marked the entrance are among the best-preserved Roman monuments in Provence.

An elegant 18th-century mansion, the museum is dedicated to modern and contemporary painting and a Van Gogh interpretation center.

Remains of the house where Michel de Nostredame, known as Nostradamus, was born in 1503 and spent his youth before becoming the famous medical astrologer whose prophecies still intrigue!

The abbey, within which Van Gogh painted his famous Yellow Room, is a beautiful Romanesque cloister that traces the year the painter was interned there.

A free 1km walking tour, about 1 hour through the landscapes that inspired Vincent Van Gogh. Marked by 19 reproductions of paintings done in Saint-Rémy, this walk takes you through the real and imaginative universe of the artist and the places he painted during his stay in this town that exudes Provence.

After your walk, refresh yourself in the shade of the chestnut trees on Place Favier. A 3-minute walk away, Rue Carnot hides a lovely fountain topped with a bust of Nostradamus.
